matthew and i headed to charleston really quickly today after our weekend in georgetown for a yummy brownie sundae from kaminsky's and of course a stroll down the lovely fashion district street of chaleston, sc - king st.!
i have a few stores that i just have to "hit up" everytime i go down king st.! one of my faves, warren on king, i wasn't able to stop into today, but i bought soooo much in there when i was down there for fashion week in march that it was probably ok that i didn't stop by there today. :)

i had to check the new locale of cynthia rowley. they moved to south king st. they have a super cute store, not that the original store on mid-upper kings st. wasn't cute, but this new store is super cute! i met a new sales girl, grace, who was so sweet! i scored some amazing sequin shorts for my upcoming trip to NYC!
we mozied on down king st. going into palm avenue, the infamous lilly pulitzer store. we had to go into matthew's fave store, m.dumas & sons!
then we walked on down to our last stop for this trip, willy jays, where they are packed with local designers like the lovely judith march! i was able to get a great basic white t and a lovely wire wrapped rose quartz ring that i've been wanting for a while now! the basic white t is meant to go with a lovely chartreuse skirt that i bought from the old cynthia rowley back in february!
so, that sums up our whirlwind charleston/king st in a day! we were also able to get some wedding planning done too! i am all about utilizing the time we have! we got tons done today! yay for the awesome new clothes and soooo excited for the treasures and secrets we got for our wedding!! i can't reveal those until march 2013 or i guess some can be leaked when our save the dates go out! :)
until next time, happy sewing, and of course shopping!

summer break!!
Summer break is finally here!! Life has been pretty busy around here with all last week being Columbia Style week and now I am in education courses for two weeks :(, but I'll still have some time for sewing and of course designing and styling! :)
At Columbia Style Week, during all the walking in the runway shows, I was able to network with some amazing models and designers. Lauren Firr, an up and coming model from Charlotte, was able to model some Slice clothes at a photoshoot on Sunday and another one tomorrow!! Yay!!
Sooooo amazing!! I already ordered shoes that color, now I just need to find some khaki and orange charmeuse silk!!
Lace shorts, and lace in general, and crochet tops are super huge right now!! I just had to re-create this look.....

I ordered an amazing floral vintage skirt pretty similar to this skirt off of an amazing Etsy shop, Cape Cod Laurie Designs. I found a crochet dress that will double as a dress and a top with my floral skirt. I bought some super cute cream lace shorts off of e-bay and an amazing orange micro-pleated skirt!
I can't wait until all my goodies arrive and I can go to some more amazing events in the latest summer 2012 styles!
Until next time....happy sewing,

Monogram Madness!!
I don't know if I've expressed my LOVE for monograms?! Well, I more than love monograms, I am obsessed!! Also, being obsessed with Pinterest doesn't help with my monogram madness! Everytime I get onto Pinterest there is another cute way to incorporate a monogram!
Today, I monogrammed one pair of my running shorts and I monogrammed a bandeau bathing suit top! Pics to come soon! (let's hope for tomorrow!)
These are pics of what I accomplished today:

The shorts and the bathing suit came out great! I will be monogramming more, but I also have an Ecology Test to type up for the 7th graders tomorrow!! Will someone please give me a job where I can sew and monogram ALL day long?!?! PLEASE!!! I'll even bake you monogrammed cupcakes!! :)

Back to Work! :(
Well, tomorrow morning it's back to work for me! Boo! :( But I only have 15 more days until the next big break! Christmas!! This Thanksgiving break has been much needed and was very appreciated by me! I was able to rest, sew, do some lesson plans and just catch up on things at the house that needed to be taken care of.
I'm going to miss basically soley concentrating on outfits, fashion and sewing now that I have to go back to work, but I'm ALWAYS thinking about that stuff!
All the holiday parties are coming up and I must have a sequined dress or skirt or something with sequins on it! I found a wonderful internet fabric store that carries great sequined fabric and I believe I will be buying from them soon. Sequined Fabric Website I want to make some sort of dress, I'm not sure if it will be all sequins or what exactly. Here are some of the dresses I'm basing my design off of.

I'm also dying for some colored denim, like maybe some red, yellow or royal blue?! Or maybe all of them?! :) I can't decide?!

Until next time, happy sewing! :)

3rd post of the day! WOW!
Happy Thanksgiving again everyone!
I've been having fun with all my blogging with my time off and have finally figured some fun things out to make my blog look better and work better and faster, so hopefully I can post more often!
I am completely inspired by Judith March and her southern style! We carry her designs at Just The Thing on Devine Street and everyone buys every piece as soon as we put them out on the floor. She is really into "gameday" dresses which is great for every college girl in town going to tailgate for the USC games.
As you know, I am an Auburn fan too! She also does Auburn gameday dresses. I have never bought any of her clothes, but I have made some very similar and will have to post those pics later on!
But for now.....check out this precious Auburn gameday dress in honor of the Iron Bowl this Saturday! War Eagle!!

Animals!
As much as I love fashion and everything about it, I also love animals! Life is so much better with them in it! I found this on Pinterest today and just had to post it!

1. My life is likely to last 10 to 15 years. Any separation from you will be painful remember that before you get me. 2. Give me time to understand what you want of me. 3. Place your trust in me- it is crucial to my well being. 4. Do not be angry at me for long, and do not lock me up as punishment. 5. You have your work, your entertainment, and your friends. I only have you. 6. Talk to me sometimes. Even if I don't understand your words, I understand your voice when it is speaking to me. 7. Be aware that how ever you treat me, I will never forget. 8. Remember before you hit me that I have teeth that could easily hurt you, but I choose not to bite you because I love you. 9. Before you scold me for being uncooperative, obstinate,or lazy, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I might not be getting the right food, or I have been out too long, or my heart is getting to old and weak. 10. Take care of me when I get old; you too will grow old. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say: "I cannot bear to watch" or "Let it happen in my absence." Everything is easier for me if you are there, even my death. Remember that I love you.

i couldn't help but post this!!
I found this on Pinterest, which I am completely obsessed with! It is sooooo addictive! I think I need to print this off for work!
Thanksgiving Break!
So, I realize I've been out of commission basically with my blog! I apologize! Since work started back in August I have literally been swamped!! Today has been my first day off since August 1! Yuck! I'm trying to catch up with some posts for you guys!
Just because this has been my first day off in months, doesn't mean I haven't been sewing and keeping up with the latest styles! That would never happen! I've been juggling fashion, style, trends and 7th and 8th grade science! Wow! Such a weird statement! Haha! I love it though! It definitely keeps me busy!
Here are some pics of my new styles!

These 2 looks were in the 701 Whaley Fashion Show on Sunday, November 13 that was put on by USC's Retail 388 students! They did a wonderful job! I hope to post the video of my 10 looks walking down the runway over my Thanksgiving break!
I'm off to sewing and designing my dress for the Carolina vs. Clemson game! Wish me luck!

July 4th outfit!
Hi everyone!
Hope your 4th of July weekend is starting out great!! Since this is a sewing blog of sorts, I thought I should post somthing to do with sewing, because I haven't yet! I'm sorrry about that.
Well, I basically need, like desparately need to have a new outfit for every single occasion! Every party, shower, dinner, football game, etc..... I have to have a new outfit that no one has seen. Oh, yeah, this even goes for work. Basically, I don't like to wear ANYTHING twice! I kind of feel bad for some of my clothes, but I really try just wearing things once. Hence, why I had to start sewing. My weird thing about clothes was getting pretty expensive! That's one of the many reasons I wanted to start sewing. I'll get to all of them eventually.
Anyways, for this 4th of July, I believe we are going to a friends house at the lake for a shin-dig. We attended last year and it was lots of fun. Last year I wore a Lilly beach cover-up which is absolutely beautiful, but it can't be worn to the same thing a year later. NEVER!!

I made the cover-up above, that I call the "Milly" dress, and I would wear this on Monday, but it looks very similar to the Lilly Pulitzer cover up that I wore last year, sew........
I've decided to make a tunic of sorts for this 4th of July party. I'm super excited about the fabric, it's very light and airy, perfect for a day out in the hot summer South Carolina sun! I'll be sure to post a picture once it's complete, but for now, I've found a picture from the Milly website that looks similar. Mine will basically have a crew neck necline and what I love about my tunic and the Milly one is that they both have POM-POMS!! I'm loving pom-poms on about everything! OBSESSED!! I was only able to attach the link to the Milly coverup, MILLYNY.com exclusive coverup.
I'll post my pictures of my tunic tomorrow!!
Until next time, happy sewing! :)

Lilly Pulitzer - Dark and Stormy
Most people that know me, know that I am OBSESSED with basically anything LILLY PULITZER!!! She is my idol!! I just can't get enough!
Well, she has her classic "SHIFT" dress in a fabric pattern called "Dark and Stormy"! I am in love! I think this must be a tribute to my grandfather! I think he told her to make this dress! This dress is in her "Original's Collection". She calls her "Original's" "10X more fun than ordinary dresses", and I truly believe they are! I have few of her past originals and I just think they are classic and it's like wearing a piece of Lilly history.
As for why I said this must have been a tribute to my grandfather it's because when I was little he would tell me this story called "Dark and Stormy". I just loved the story. The story would repeat itself over and over again. This is all I can remember from it now....."It was a dark and stormy night, and the waves were crashing high, and the captain said, "Sit down men, let me tell you a story....." and then the sentence would repeat. I thought it was the best! I guess I kept thinking there was going to be juicy story so I continued to listen.
My grandfather would tell all sorts of stories and all the time and I loved hearing them all. He served in the Army during WWII, so I kind of thought that story was made up while he over there. Who knows?! I need to find a picture of him and post it. I'll work on that! :)
But for now, here is the pictue of the Dark and Stormy Shift!! :)

Celine outfit, Your Opinion!!
Hi Guys!
I need your opinion!!
I came across the picture below of an outfit from the Celine Fashion House at Neiman Marcus and I love the outfit, but I've been known to like some crazy things, so I would love to get your opinion on the outfit. Please leave comments!
I definitely need some pink pants, just like these and I even love the top! I, of course love, LOVE, love the YSL pumps! I'm desparately needing some of these!
Continuing the growth of the company, Celine introduced its first ready-to-wear line in the 1960’s. Combined with the already established popularity of the footwear and accessory lines, Celine’s ready-to-wear line was the finishing touch in the designer collection. Since the release of the clothing line, the label has continued to soar and is currently one of the most popular designer brands in the fashion industry.
Some of these cutting-edge designs have been worn by famous celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie (ironically, they have the same taste in clothes…and men!).
Celine’s designs are chosen by professional women looking to create positive images for themselves through the clothing they choose to wear. The popularity of this designer clothing label is expected to rise in the years to come.
**** I think it's pretty cool that Michael Kors used to design the for Celine. It's just neat to see where all these famous designers started out! :) ****
Check out the Celine website and check out the entire pre-fall line and even the previous collections! http://www.celine.com/
Until next time, happy sewing! :)

Some fun information about the Celine Fashion House:
The Evolution of Celine
The Celine label was launched in 1945 by French designer Celine Viplana. Originally, this label was a "made-to-measure" children’s footwear company but over the years, the company evolved into a woman’s footwear company which was extremely popular in many parts of the world. Shortly after the launch of their women’s shoe line, Celine released a line of accessories which grew to include handbags, sunglasses, ties and more.Continuing the growth of the company, Celine introduced its first ready-to-wear line in the 1960’s. Combined with the already established popularity of the footwear and accessory lines, Celine’s ready-to-wear line was the finishing touch in the designer collection. Since the release of the clothing line, the label has continued to soar and is currently one of the most popular designer brands in the fashion industry.
Celine’s Signature Style
Celine’s signature style is often described as a cross between sexy-sporty and cute-flirty. Feminine skirts, body-hugging shirts and charming accessories make this line a perfect fit for girl next door personalities who prefer to look cute as opposed to trashy. These high end, luxury sports designs offer a chic, uptown girl image for those of you looking to hit the town in a flattering (but highly appropriate) outfit. You won’t find any ripped, frayed, or torn provocative pieces in this collection.

Monday, Monday!!
I hope everyone is having a great Monday morning!
I was planning on getting tons of things done today, however I have not gotten off to a great start, but I hope to change that! :)
This past week I posted most of my clothing pictures on facebook, so I hope you all had a chance to look at them. :) There will be more to come! Yay! This is definitely the "Summer of Sewing"! I've had a few orders come in for dresses and even some pillows!
Tomorrow night I'm having a Stella and Dot party at my house and I'm frantically trying to get everything prepared for that! I'm making matching pillows, cloth napkins, placemats and a table runner with cute contrasting trims and monograms! Pictures will be posted soon!
My dear friend, Jean Triskett Martin, is working very hard on the Slice website. We hope to have some sort of website running soon!
Until next time, happy sewing! :)

Welcome to Sew Pink and Green!!
Hi Everyone!
Welcome to the Sew Pink and Green Blog!! Yay! I'm excited to get started! This blog is dedicated to everything pink and green (and I guess other colors can join in too! haha!) and sewing and monogramming/fashion/fashion design. I am obsessed with everything pink and green, preppy, Lilly Pulitzer, fashion and creating fashion! Find out more about my company, Slice Couture Clothing by clicking here.
Sew.....a little bit about me; I have ALWAYS been obsessed with clothes, fashion and monograms on any and everything! Since I was little I had to have such and such "brand" name of clothes, whatever it was at the time. So, the obsession continues! I just can't and never will be able to get enough of Lilly Pulitzer. My entire house is basically dedicated to her with about everything in there being some shade of pink and green.
Sew....the sewing part of this blog all started when I couldn't get the dress I wanted for a party. I just wasn't happy with anything I found at any store, so I decided to take matters into my own hands. I went to the local fabric store, Forest Lake Fabrics, and grabbed 2 pieces of super cute material that I thought would be great for some dresses. I took the fabric to my local tailor and got them to whip me up some uber awesome dresses!! They are amazing! From that point, I decided I could do that for myself and didn't need the tailor. It was just going to take some hard work, dedication and lots and lots of time!
I took many, many sewing lessons and made some really, really horrendous things! Yuck! But I also made some winners too! Some items that I will wear forever! Sewing is now something I just can't stop thinking about. I'm always inventing new things to sew, design and make. I started with dresses and skirts and now I'm making pillows, placemats, napkins, shower curtains, purses, travel bags, shirts, and work bags. Basically anything that can be made, I'll try my hardest to make it happen.
I also started monogramming this past year. For my Christmas present, my parents surprised me with a brand new sewing machine, that's basically a computer and it does about everything! So I got into the monogramming, embroidery and applique world! It's great! I really can't get enough!!
Hopefully, you all will enjoy reading my posts of everything Lilly and everything fashion. I love keeping up with the latest fashion trends and celebrity gossip. Sew, basically this blog will be about everything girly and sewing! :)
Until next time, happy sewing! :)
